Etsy artist: Kendra Binney

I found this artist via Decor8, her name is Kendra Binney. I'm loving her work. And am definitely buying some. If you need a Christmas idea for me .... I would love to start a little collection of her work. (note: shameless plea is directed to family). I prefer the more 'cheery' pieces...some are a sad, even haunting. But all are beautiful. She also sells pieces on ETSY.

This is the one I want. It's called 'dream of being underwater'

Babystyle gifts

Babystyle has some of the cutest things, always. It makes me reminiscent of those days when my little girl was just a babe. I also know I can find that perfect gift for kids or mama to be.

What I'm watching...

this weekend on HGTV, they are airing the 'DOMINO DESIGN BAZAAR'. I totally missed it last Saturday so I am writing it down on my palm. And I do mean that literally..pen to palm of hand, not palm pilot.
Anyway.... its Saturday night, 6PM. I'm sure the special will be better than the real deal. But we shall see. I'll let ya know.

to encourage you

Pick it up---- Creole Thrift by Angele Parlange

I stopped by Barnes and Noble last night to pick up a copy of Creole Thrift.
The sales lady looked it up and said its in stock, should be up front on the table.
We go looking ALL around, different areas, under tables, on shelves. She can't find it.
She's ready to give up and asks if I want to order it. I say 'But you HAVE it in stock, someone must know where it is'. She says but I can't find it and turns to walk away and there it is right in front of her.
So I have my book.
I've only taken a glance through thus far...but I know I will love it.
It's all about having things in our home that truly reflect who we are, not necessarily the most expensive, but things that have a history and meaning to us. It's also about being resourceful and making the most of things around you.

COACH ..... can't get enough lately

Right now I'm loving Coach's jewelry selection.......

And I absolutely adore the new 'ponytail scarf' I bought for myself. Although I don't wear it in my hair.. a bit too preppy. I tie it onto my bags.... so so nice! And may I mention it wasn't easy to get....sold out... waiting, waiting... I just happen to stop by Coach and took their last one off display!

I don't remember Fossil being so cool....

Hey I just received the Holiday catalog for Fossil and I must say I'm suprised to find so many things that I like. I don't know why, I just don't recall seeing so many cool things from them before.

I'm puzzled as to why I can't find everything in the catalog online...such as the women's 'leather makeup bag'. As well as the Canvas makeup bag..nowhere to be found. ugghh!
OK ..here's an aged leather jewelery box that is a keeper!

OK... Order the catalog... apparently Fossil doesn't have all their holiday merchandise uploaded on their website. : ( So no more raving about them tonight.

November 10, 2006- All or nothing?

OK so here it goes....
Have you ever wanted to start a project, pursue a dream, etc but sort of held off because you feel you can't possibly officially start or put yourself out there until every last detail is thought through, figured out, business plan complete, etc. Well that's me with so many ideas, directions to go in, plans in progress, products to create.
Well I was doing a little reading lately on a blog which I'll talk about later on but the gist of the message was about how we keep putting things off and how we forget that TOMORROW IS PROMISED TO NO ONE! Start today, so what if you don't have the fool-proof plan worked out yet! Who does? Not everyone. Who says it has to be all or nothing? I don't believe it does anymore.
So though this blog was created almost a year ago, today I open it up and start to blog.
About what: (like I said, its not all figured out yet, but many things)
  • pursueing a creative endeavor, and the process of finding out what it is you love to do
  • art; design-particularly home design which I am passionate about, and that is the area I would like to create products for
  • my ideal scenario of getting into a more creative field
  • a placeholder for all the blogs who have inspired me over this past year with their creativity, pursuit of their dreams and willingness to share
  • posts about shopping or great finds for the home, maybe fashion too
  • supporting indie artists
  • photos that inspire me
  • everyday tidbits of life
PS... some of you may know me from my little blog www.cravinganthropologie.blogspot.com which I started just as a creative outlet, where I oogle over all that is Anthropologie. To me, this store just inspired my creativity, at a time when I wasn't surrounded by any. So I just love to visit their stores and see their unique & beautiful displays and of course window shop online as well.

Anyway......... off I go.
