Sarai (Sweet Sassafras)blogged about her alteration of an old cashmere sweater that her grandmother gave her, see what she has done.

It makes me want to dig up and rescue some old sweaters in my closet!!!!

Hooray for Cameo ART Pins!!!

I'm very excited about these little Cameo Pins!!!

This one is a tiny version of my original piece titled 'lovely thing', it's made super small to fit this little gorgeous teal Cameo frame. The lil print has a clear top coating for protection against scratches or a few rain drops. Size is approximately 1.5 x 2 inches.

I love to wear it on my jacket or even pinned to my tote or bag!!

This one is in the shop now...

There will be more to come! I can't get enough of them! I think I will have to keep one of each kind for myself.

We are hoping to see

Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who........this weekend!!!! Did anyone see it, I can't imagine it being anything other than wonderful!

A good Friday in NYC and at the Circus

It really was a fun day off today. We went to the Ringling Bros Barnum and Bailey CIRCUS!!!
So much fun to see! I really need to learn to take more photos. But here's a few.
....

These 2 are when we were strolling around NYC, in the fashion district. You've got to love the Big 'ole button, right? I just love it!

We also stopped by Macy's to see the wonderful FLOWER displays!!! I snapped a few shots of the windows and inside which I'll share in a post of its own.

Hello Domino............

Domino's March issue ..........is tagged 'Simplify your life'! (though this is the really the GREEN issue). But the simplifying part, is something I have truly been working towards accomplishing.
With a touch of 'green' too~

*****

APRIL coming soon.

I'm also seriously looking forward to the April issue which JOY gave us a sneek peek on! That issue features the lovely DREW BARRYMORE!

And to see additional outtakes from the photo shoot with Drew, you can go to Domino's site...I loved them... they look playful and fun!

side note

I am here. But posting may be light. If you've been following the news Friday and today and work in the financial market, you know what I mean.
Rough times. Uncertain of what I will do next.

Tracy Porter

(Rosewater Bedding/Tracy Porter)

Where have I been!!!! I know TRACY has been around quite a while, so I can't believe I just stumbled upon her a few weeks ago when Holly from Decor8 posted about her. And I remember I was so in love with her style, that almost mediterranean, bohemian touch. I just love it all!! I was reading her blog, browsing around her site, ordered a catalog, viewing her videos, just totally inspired!!!

She has some new videos posted, so you must go see! My favorite today, was 'painting your curtains'....YES, painting right on to your velvet curtains!!! I totally want to try this!

Sisters Gulassa

I've blogged, or should say raved, about designer Cyrille Gulassa in the past. Well now she's teamed up with her sister Lise to form sistersGulassa! You'll want to bookmark. Can't wait to see what's next for these creative ladies!

Abra---cadabra!!!!

umm.... not quite as quick.

Here's a pic of the dresser drawers I started painting. From that icky brown, to the lovely teal-ish color. I love it already. But of course, its still in-progress, I've only done the drawers so far!

so what do you think of these drawer pulls, should I put them back on as is or paint them?

I'm kind of leaning towards putting them on the way they are. But that could be because it's less work for me : ) (aka...lazy!)

In my Den: Favorite pillows and more

These are some of my favorite mix mash of pillows in the Den. The large one on top is Anthropologie, the right one is Pottery Barn, I think. And the other, I have no idea. Maybe Pier One. Here's some other things I bought for this room........

Bird cage in the Loo!

Ok so I don't really use the word LOO, but there IS a birdcage in my bathroom!! I just thought it was soo sweet. Please don't pay attention to the bar of soap inside it. Until I make a faux little feathered friend to place inside, I couldn't leave it empty.

Perfection

I am completely smitten with this amazing chair reupholstered by Sandy Stone. It's just perfect to me, with the right combination of neutral and patches of beautiful popping color and the trim just tops it off. Did I say how much I love this???

Proud Aunty

So proud of my little neice, here's one of her shots on the website Got Game gear.
She's looking very tough and sporty here on the left, but really she's a total SWEETIE! You can't see her gorgeous long hair in this pic. I think there's more shots. They refresh everytime you bring up the site.

Country Living Project: Ghost Mirror

No one is more suprised than me to say that I have loved these past 2 issues of Country living!
Seriously, they've been really good.
I especially fell in love with this Ghost mirror the minute I saw it. And said I have to try it.
I will show my photos soon. They provide the pattern and instructions on their website.
You can use MDF or Foam core, I obviously chose the foam core. I didn't have an exacto knife, so I used a razor type tool. I can tell you that the key here is to have a SUPER SHARP Cutting tool. I know that seems obvious. But I thought my razor was sharp. So in the end, I still loved this project, BUT my edges are not very smooth. I'm still figuring out what I can do, such as put ribbon all around the outside edges to cover it up.
But still a very fun and cool project!!! Just remember, get a new super sharp exacto before you start!!!

A girl named Rose....

Here she is, the doll I promised oh so long ago to my little girl. I'm embarassed to say how long it took for me to do. Let's just say 'forever', you get the idea. She named her Rose. And I'm so happy to have finished her. I loved the whole process and I could make a million of these, if I didn't have to do anything else like go to work, laundry, life...etc etc.
(you can click on the photo for a close up...... uhhhmm I should have dusted maybe!!!)

Rose originally had a bright pink scarf but when I showed it to Lil J...she stood quiet and looked disappointed. So I asked 'what's wrong?' And she told me she didn't love the bright pink scarf and so I immediately said 'no problem, off it goes!!!' Because if she doesn't love it, what's the point, right? Sometimes I forget that almost- 5 yr olds have their own very strong opinions! Especially about fashion! So we opted on the polka dots to match her little sock/boots!

I have more close ups, but blogger is being buggy the past few days. So I'll try to add them another day.
