So I'm finally getting my stuff together and just doing it. I've been working away this past week to get some pieces together for the opening of my ETSY shop. I am excited and nervous about it, but truly mostly excited.
I plan to finish some more this weeeknd. And I'll give you the scoops next week. My goal is March 1st, but maybe sooner.
Wooo hooo!! I love ETSY.

Translucent Valentine hearts
I've been getting crafty these past few evenings working on my Valentines for the 'Free People' swap which I am so happy to be part of!
A couple nights ago I thought I would try this project from Martha Stewarts site. It's called Crayon Hearts. They are translucent hanging hearts made simply from melted crayons and wax paper. And it really was simple and fun!!! That's my version that you see above........below is Martha's which is quite perfect as expected. But I still love my hearts. I honestly think the quality of the crayons may matter or maybe the size of the shavings. Not sure. Or maybe if your name is Martha! : )
PS....Just a lil note if you plan on having the kiddies around ....my little girl was NOT too thrilled that I was destroying her crayons! When I asked her for another red one, which she had plenty, she replies 'nope mom there's no more. I think you have enough.' So, I promised her I would buy a BIG box of CRAYONS! Then she said OK.

I need my Brocade home
I still haven't received my Brocade Home catalog. What's the deal? UNLESS...a certain someone tossed it out with the junk mail. God forbid. I won't even consider that because I can't prove it. Oh well..hopefully its on its merry way to my house soon.
UPDATE: I received my catalog in the mail this evening, how funny is that!

Hayden-Harnett's Eco-tote
I recently posted about one of 'Hayden-Harnett's' bags over at Craving Anthropologie, which then led me to their website to find lots of great things. I love supporting our local designers.
Hayden-Harnett are Brooklyn based handbags and accessories designers.
Here's a bag I like because it supports a great cause!
They were inspired to create this bag after watching Al Gore's documentary 'The Inconvenient Truth' . It's called the Eco-tote and for each bag purchased they will donate $25 to global warming charities and an additional $10 to plant 10 trees, 'which help to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and put the brakes on global warming.'
$55.00

where is that black shirt?
Tell me if you can relate. I do love shopping as much as the next girl AND I certainly enjoy bringing home a brand new outfit or home item that I find on my hunt. Truly I do. BUT... sometimes I really just want to pause and take inventory of what I have. And (here's the key) GET ORGANIZED enough to even see what I have in my wardrobe. So I have a better idea of what I need and shop for those things that complete my wardrobe.
I love Alex's idea of taking a photo of each piece or using the stores website photo's to mix and match outfits and plan for trips, etc. But there's no way I'm even close to doing that. Maybe one day.
So that's what I think about doing.(the organized part) Alot. Though I am always complaining about space. I know that's not the issue. Instead of shopping for more sutff to clutter my home, I need to see what I have, what I want to keep, get it organized, and go on from there.
Anyway...now you may hold me to it. I'm not saying I'm going to stop shopping completely.
But some progress in the right direction is what I'm looking for.
