I love those tiny Succa's!!!!

First I have to thank 'The Nester' for the
inspiration for this tiny project.
She wrote this series on using plants in your home,
which I almost skipped because I am a total plant killer.
But I feel like there's hope for me, so I kept
reading.

And then I got to the part where she happened to go
into CVS and picked up some Tiny (and awesomely cute) succulents for
$1.99...

what, what what....back up! I'm hooked. super
cheap, Tiny plants that are really kind of hard to kill, I'm in.

So my little girl and I decided on a Saturday
morning to walk/ ride her bike there. That's me walking, and she riding. To CVS. This
is unheard of but I figured that could count for this lazy girl's exercise that
day.(lazy girl is me, not my kid ; ) obviously

Oh you want to just get to the photos
already.
Fine. Geez!

For the first 3, I grabbed jars I had around the house- a jam jar, a bell jar and my fav, a mini coca cola glass! I then put some larger stones on the bottom, pink gravel and dirt and that's it!
Love these little things...so freaking cute.

Of course I couldn't stop there, I had to go for the big mama! I started looking around for something bigger to put a bunch in, no luck. So I bought this clear bowl from Target. In the kitchen section.($9) And did the same thing, layering large stones, gravel, dirt and this time I threw some sand in too. I love how they came out. I can't vouch for how long I will keep them alive. I already scorched one. Apparently you have to give them slow gradual exposure to the sun. Who knew! Still a great project. Go try it!

(and yes those spikey balls hurt like a mother &^*^%, just like you think they would)
A fun and inexpensive project, that I completely enjoyed!!!

Getting the goods ready for shop opening...

My sis's Lucky 7 Design's shop opening is coming soon.... this Friday, March 9th. It's very exciting! I'm so proud of her. She was meant to do this!!!
So much to do. I'm in the midst of getting my items ready from Pinkybrown that I will be selling there.
My office is a crazy mess, if you can imagine.
Here's a pic of one of the handmade dolls...her name is Lola and she is ready to go!!! (I am crazy over those little shoes!)
Below are some other Art prints and goodies for display. I'll try to come back with more soon.

Just making stuff...

Hello Mailman..

I still love to get new magazines or catalogs in the mail to browse through for inspiration. Perfect while eating a quick lunch. This months West Elm catalog is all about Morrocco and I'm smitten with the vintage metal trays. But I would prefer to find a real vintage one at a fraction of the price.. *sigh*

House of Honey

This morning as I was making my bed I turned on the
TV and happened to stumble upon OPEN HOUSE. I guess re-runs show on Saturdays,
but I was so happy I tuned in. They shared the home of Tamara Kaye Honey who is an interior designer and lives in Los Angeles. I kept rewinding my DVR to see parts of it over and
over. It was electic, bright, funky, full of art, white with bright color
accents, just lovely I think.

And my favorite was this gorgeous painting
below! I wish I knew more about it...

Target..you are my fave

Today I took a lunchtime run to Target. I really
just needed a few essentials, plus I decided it was taco nite so I could grab
all those things there too. I should resist walking through the home section
but I can't.... so needless to say, this cute pink and white Chevron pillow jumped into
my arms and begged me to take it home. Now this lovely zigzag sits in my home
office chair....
Didn't get lunch. But I did get my Dunkin Donuts' coffee. : ) Good trip

Ridiculously excited..

about this little tidbit!
though I am also a bit cautiously optimistic, because part of me wonders how could it possibly be close to what it was since all those wonderful people who created it are now gone. Right?

Love me some Fridays!

Ahhh...since I'm so behind on my
updates

we'll stick with Randomness....

* My sis is working on opening her very own STOREFRONT for Lucky 7 Design...so exciting!
*My lil sis already owns her own Thrift shop! In case I never told ya.
What am I waiting for, I hear you say??? I know
right!

* My job/contract has been extended till end of
February. Which is good news. Otherwise, see Bullet 1, I might be put to work
either way :
*Lots of Bdays in January. Need to get on
that.
*So happy Monday is a Holiday!
* My little girl and I did make it into NYC the day
before Christmas Eve...to see the tree, see the lovely store windows, visit FAO
Schwarts, visit American Girl Doll store... it was a fun but tiring day. So glad
we went. They actually changed the school calendar and said the kids had1/2
day school that day. So J actually TOLD the teacher the day before that 'we
already made plans so she won't be there'. I kinda gasped when she told me. But then I thought it was the funniest thing and so unlike her. I was going to write a note..but that
worked. (I wonder what her teacher thought!!! )

*The Jason Wu line for TARGET is coming out soon! I
just saw the lookbook, and my only fave is the tote you see above. And I can
certainly live without it. So I won't be standing in line with the crazy
ebay-ers. no thankyou.

* Went snow tubing last weekend in PA with friends. So fun and Scary! Let's just say the bigger you are the faaaaster (way freaking faster) you go!!!
My little girl got a UTI while we were there..not
fun. Poor thing. Good thing there are lots of Medi- centers
around.

* Happy Bday to my niece Adelina who is 11 years old today!!! She's the sweetest girl ever. (I don't believe a word her mama says)

Redesigned stool

This little project started out with a perfectly new, but plain stool.
And 1 of my old favorites... this sweater by Tommy Hilfiger (Boardsports).

Add a little stitching...........

After =

A perfectly charming, stylish and modern piece!!(if I do say so..lol) I made this for the shop but I might have to make another to keep.
