I save really great home mags for reference.... especially Domino.

So , I really love the insert in the Star-Ledgers Saturday paper. It's called Abode 'There's no place like home', is the tagline. It's my favorite section, though I always wish it was longer : )

This one was all about how to get the look of Carrie's apartment. Which as you know is wonderfully designed!!! *sigh*

Just added a couple more totes to the shop... One is trimmed with a Red Paisley silk tie and the other a minty/lime green silk trim. Above is a shot of the girls (no not all mine) playing outside. I had about 10 seconds to snap it... and off they went to catch some lightening bugs!

Our driveway is a lovely canvas for the little artists in the neighborhood! Very sweet.

OH MY GOSH. How is it possible that I did not know this? I know, I'm embarrasing myself.

But for someone who LOVES magazines as much as I do, this is something one should know!!

Thrift store find

So this is the GEM I found at a thrift shop. I just adore it!!! LOVE IT!!! Seriously.
I should say this 2nd hand shop isn't just any shop it is now my sisters' shop, so I really can't stop by too often as you can imagine. Trouble. Trouble.
So I pick up this necklace and show it to her... she says 'you like that? really?' I'm saying 'oh my gosh, are you crazy, its beautiful!' sigh* oh well, I guess I'm drawn to unusual things!

So here it is(a less blurry shot)........ Now if my neck doesn't turn an awful green color then it will REALLY be my favorite!!! here's to hoping : )

Thursday ......schmurzday

So can you believe that I have not made time for anything crafty ...not a thing. I guess I haven't been in the mood. No fear though, I've blocked out some time Monday and Tuesday to get crafty and hopefully get my totes in the shop!!! ; )

I did pick up this pretty sheet of paper at Borders...... What did ya say...oh what will I do with it?

uh do we need a reason to buy pretty paper?

And this book just hopped into my basket..... because we all want to know the secrets!! And here I am looking through June's Country Living for inspiration, so I can clean my house. Yes, I need inspiration to clean! ha

Hey Wednesday!!!

This is an old album I found at the thrift store......'Sleeping Beauty Ballet', I just thought it was such a great cover that it had to be framed!! And it matched my bedroom quilt, so it is perfect.

Day 1 post job...........

So this was the first day sans work. It felt so very strange. I know it should of felt like a day off but it didn't. It was different. I ran errands, kept somewhat busy, but there were certainly moments where I was wondering 'OK what do I do now'. (Even though there are a billion things to get done)



So I want to try to do this little thing where I take a photo each day for at least 30 days. It could be more than one, but definitely ONE. Just looking for the beautiful in the ordinary. Or something from my day, really it could be anything. Let's see how it goes.

and of course I had plenty of time for some sweets! Very YUMMY banana cupcakes with Rainbow chip icing. Oh so good!

Tomorrow is a NEW day and I'm looking forward to it!!!

Just back from the land of MOUSE ears..........

Aka.........Disney World!!!! And I am truly exhausted! Seriously. I've walked more in the last seven days than I have in.......well I'm embarrassed to say. But you know what I mean.
We had such a wonderful time!!

I also found out my employment status the first day back..... so I will be looking for a new job soon as well!! Nothing like that news to snap you out of vacation mode!!

I'll stop in later in the week... when it all sinks in.

Totes for the shop! very soon...

I was working on embellishing some more totes for the shop. Here are 3 of them.

Not completely finished yet, I still have to sew inside pockets for two of them. Because I think pockets are a totally necessity, don't you? They each have their own unique Silk tie for the trim and a little matching gift tag!

Even though the first tote was made for my daughter(previous post), I kind of swiped it and have been using it to carry my magazines. Is that wrong? I guess I'll have to give it back and make another for myself : )

Preview---My first tote ever!!!

So this is kind of a preview. This first tote is for my daughter. BUT the other's for the shop will be similar, and each unique.

This canvas tote is screenprinted on each side with one of my original drawings....

*I further embellished with various purple buttons,

*embroidered the words Rain Girl in purple,

*added some purple fabric coloring to the rain drops and puddles....

*used a silk tie for one handle...
*and added a little note tag.

(not sure exactly how I will embellish the one's for the shop) .. and the other side will still have the Rain Girl screen printed but no other embellishments.

I took these photos at night so the lighting wasn't the best.

I actually 'borrowed' her tote today to carry some magazines to work! shhhhh!!! don't tell on me.
